Get To Know Dr. Dang
I got into this field because I had first-hand experience into how broken the system was. I was dismissed by my doctors, I was told it was all in my head, and I even had to read medical textbooks at the age of 13 to tell my doctors what labs to run. If anyone has been there, it’s me.
For acne, I was given birth control at the age of 14 with no conversation about the long term impacts on my hormones.
For my severe abdominal pain at the age of 15, I was given antibiotics round after round (9 rounds in 2 years) with no conversations about probiotics or any formal testing to figure out why I was in pain.
For my PCOS, I was told I need to lose 10-15% of my body weight at the age of 16 even though I was a very healthy weight and already an athlete.
For heart palpitations and syncope at the age of 18, I was recommended beta blockers, rather than understanding the impact of stress had on the body.
I decided I wanted to change the healthcare system from within and be the doctor I always needed. I now strive to listen and advocate for each and every one of my patients.
“Your body isn’t broken. It’s been trying to tell you something — and it deserves a doctor patient enough to listen.”
